Use a proxy first of all. proXPN is recommended, it slows down the connection just a tiny bit but it works and it keeps you anonymous.

go to any browser (firefox rules!) and type in 192.168.1.1

if that didnt work than go to the cmd and type in ipconfig /all
and then enter the adress for the default gateway.

Either an admin panel or a password box will pop up.

try either admin as the username
and password as the password.

Usually that works if it is an insecure network, because if they are stupid enough to leave it open then they probably haven't passworded it.

If you find a gray box that asks for a login then google whatever the brand of the router is and find the default login. (brand or a code such as WRT54G)

WRT54G is linksys
there is no username
only password and that is password

Once you are in, I suggest if it was insecure change the router name to getafirewall
